“Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever” 1 Chronicles 16:34

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8)

“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” (Matthew 28:16-20)

The above passages declare the church’s great commission. We believe that missions is at the heart of God and the most important task of the church. God loves us and desires for all people everywhere to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is the task of the church, our Great Commission, to share God’s love in Jesus Christ near us and far.

MISSION STATEMENT:
BECOMING MORE LIKE JESUS CHRIST

“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and all the people.” – Luke 2:52

Bethany Children’s ministry desires to be a community where children become more like Christ. As Jesus knew God, loved God, and served God, our goal is to teach children who God is, how much God loves them, and how God invites them to share this Good News with those who do not know. You are more than welcome to join us in this mission and glorify God!

Young children (ages from birth to 4) gather in the nursery room at the back of the sanctuary for their own time of praise and worship to God.

  • Knowing God – We become like Jesus Christ by studying God’s Word and Praying to God.
  • Loving God – We become like Jesus Christ by obeying God’s Words.
  • Sharing God – We become like Jesus Christ by putting others before us.
Children (pre-school to 5th grade) join parents for worship at 10:30 a.m. and afterwards, they go with their teachers to the pastor’s office for a time of learning and making Bible lesson crafts.

Ministry

MISSION STATEMENT:
MAKING DISCIPLES OF CHRIST

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” – Matthew 28:18-20

Bethany Youth Ministry strives to be a community where youths find their identity as beloved disciples who are called to go and make disciples of Christ wherever we go. With a definition of disciple as one who know God, love God, and share God, our goal is to help youth know God more, love God deeper, and share God everywhere.

  • Knowing God – We are to know God as we begin personal relationship with Him. We are to listen to God through scripture and speak to God through prayer
  • Loving God – We are to love God by first loving ourselves as we embrace our beauty and brokenness and second, by loving our neighbors as we embrace their beauty and brokenness.
  • Serving God – We are to serve God locally by serving people in our neighborhood and globally by actively engaging with the people in different countries who don’t know God.

Our youth ministry serves 6th to 12th. Sunday begins with worship with the children and adults at 10:30AM. After worship, the youths gather upstairs into small groups for further learning and fellowship. Our teachers are fully equipped to teach and to promote faith formation.

Through different activities, outings, events, and studies, we hope to become Jesus’ beloved disciples who make disciples of Christ wherever we go.
